In Bend, a winery wedding is rare so when I spoke to Kirsten & Tom about their Sweet Cheeks Winery wedding I couldn’t wait for the green rolling hills of the valley. I’ve always loved Sweet Cheeks wine because of their adorable branding (and great tasting wine). I remember lusting after the bottles in college with the cute raven and visiting the winery for a splurge.
Just minutes from Eugene the wedding venue has views rolling green hills and acres of vineyard along with a designated event and ceremony space. With a large tree and even cute tables/chairs the venue is extremely photogenic. Although guests can’t walk the vineyards the wedding party has unlimited use to take photos in the vines.
Advice for planning a Sweet Cheeks winery wedding
- The tasting room/restaurant is open to the public until 4pm so it’s important to be very organized with decor to flip the space. I highly recommend working with a professional wedding planner so you can relax while the space is transformed.
- The getting ready space is well curated but dark. Ensure your hair and makeup team has professional lighting and be prepared to take some faux getting ready photos outside of the room for the very best lighting
- Get ready to party! Compared to Central Oregon the Willamette valley has a later amplified music end time of 11pm. With a later ceremony time you can really have quite a party and a real exit photo opportunity.
- Oregon’s weather can vary greatly, so it’s crucial to consider the time of year for your wedding. The winery is particularly stunning during the spring and fall when the vineyards are lush or have autumn foliage. Summer offers warmer temperatures but can be busier, so be sure to plan early to secure your preferred date.
- Sweet Cheeks Winery has panoramic views of the rolling hills and vineyards, so plan your wedding to take advantage of the natural beauty. Consider an outdoor ceremony and a tented reception if you’re worried about the weather.
- Sweet Cheeks Winery is known for its exquisite wine selection, so take advantage to incorporate wine tasting into your wedding. Consider offering a wine-tasting station or using one of their adorable bottles as a favor for a memorable touch.
- The venue is located in a rural area with limited cell reception, so ensure your guests have clear directions. Consider providing shuttle services so your guests can safely get to their accommodation after enjoying the wine.
