Jenny and Andrew had such a beautifully detailed Skyliner lodge wedding. With a smaller guest list and Jenny’s incredible eye for vintage details – they had such a beautifully styled wedding with their 30 guests.
It’s really difficult to pull of a cohesive and styled wedding without working with a planner (which is one reason why I highly recommend them!) but Jenny and Andrew did an incredible job. Jenny is a elementary school librarian so she had a lounge area with some of her favorite books and their guest book were vintage library cards. She also used scrabble letters for signage, had a hydration station, and book quotes throughout the wedding. They also decorated with vintage handkerchiefs and pie plates for the dessert table. Everything else she filled in from Curated Event Rentals like vintage chairs and jewel toned goblets. The result is just stunning. I love that her wedding incroporated her love of books vintage JUST SO WELL!
We had a timeline crafted to ensure that we could go on a little photo adventure. Jenny wanted photos in the river and took time to scout a spot close by and pack some river adventuring shoes. I wanted to make sure we hit my favorite spot for photos at Skyliner! We adventured on the ridge right at sunset- and got some of my favorite photos I’ve ever taken.
Tips for a Skyliner Lodge Wedding
- Utilize the outdoor space! The outside of Skyliner Lodge is a gorgeous but the inside can feel a bit… something. The outdoor space with the Ponderosas is one of the best outdoor reception spots in Bend with dappled light and shade all evening long. Long tables work especially well!
- Think about the arbor. Jenny dried out some hops from a nearby farm which worked incredibly well (and harked to their love of local beer)
- Have a detailed plan for set up and take down if you’re planning your wedding yourself! Skyliner is a venue where you need to bring everything in and out. You don’t want to be stressed on your wedding day wondering who is setting up the chairs.
- Take some time for sunset photos (and maybe bring a second set of shoes)! Seriously, the ridge here is one of my portrait locations in Central Oregon for wedding photos – and even though you will need to scramble up a slight hill, it’s worth it! You do not want to go up this hill in heels.
- Plan some music. Skyliner Lodge has some strict rules about amplified music that often change – so make sure you understand the rules.
