Zuleka and Walker’s Long Hollow Ranch wedding was such a beautiful mix of love, family, and international flair. Walker grew up in California before moving to Bend to work for the Forest Service, and Zuleka moved from the North Island of New Zealand to attend grad school here. They met online, and their wedding day felt like a reflection of both of their stories coming together.
Long Hollow Ranch was the perfect backdrop for what they wanted most: a celebration that gave them time to connect with the people they love. With guests traveling from all over the world, they wanted a day that felt relaxed and joyful. They spent the morning slowly, enjoying time together before splitting off to get ready in separate houses on the ranch. Their wedding party was small and meaningful—just their siblings, their dogs by their side, and several children as flower girls and ring bearers.
One of the most personal touches was their officiant: one of Zuleka’s grad school professors, which made the ceremony feel intimate and heartfelt. Their flowers were bright and tropical, a nod to Zuleka’s New Zealand roots, and their reception was filled with laughter, heartfelt speeches, and even a traditional Kiwi song that brought tears to everyone’s eyes.
One of my favorite parts of their Long Hollow Ranch wedding day was sunset portraits in the horse pasture. As we walked, the horses galloped around us, creating the most magical moment for photos. Afterward, Zuleka changed into her reception outfit and joined their guests to dance the night away under the wide Central Oregon sky.
