Some weddings I think I’m destined to photograph and Madison & Brian’s Brasada Ranch wedding was absolutely one of them. Madison reached out to me at the end of October as her wedding photographer had just cancelled. They had been planning their wedding for 2 years and they were both understandably a little bit stressed. To add to it, Madison was currently working with refugees in Greece and not in the country.
We instantly connected. I spent a lot of time living abroad and we spent 30 mins just chatting before even getting to their wedding. Later that night they signed the contract and I was talking to their planner about their wedding which was less than 6 weeks away!
Brasada is a magical wedding any time of year but is especially pretty in winter. We lucked out with it being in the mid-40s which made their December ceremony able to be outside.
When it’s colder my favorite way is to split up portraits into smaller chunks throughout the day. We did a first look, a few portraits snuck in between family & wedding party photos, and a few even waiting for a car. They really wanted to spend as much time as possible with their guests so we snuck out just for a couple minutes at sunset.
Summer Robbins (as always) arranged the most incredible flowers. From a broken arch to a fireplace dripping in florals, crystals, and all of their favorite things. I truly wanted to sleep in these roses. They also had juniper branches which made the room smell like the best of Central Oregon. Madison’s dress that looked like it was spun by fairies and sparkled and her purple shoes had actual wings on them.
Planning your Central Oregon wedding? I would love to chat and see if I would be a good chat for your wedding!
